Practical Lifting Systems for Big Bags
Easily Transport FIBCs Thanks to Lifting Loops
Big Bags, also known by the abbreviation FIBC (Flexible Intermediate Bulk Container), have a very large capacity and high load-bearing capacity. It's legitimate to wonder how these huge transport bags move from point A to point B. However, the solution is simple: Thanks to practical lifting loops, users can easily and quickly lift Big Bags with forklifts, cranes, or grabbers and transport them to their destination.
Overview of Our Lifting Systems for Big Bags
With us, you can order Big Bags with one, two, or four loops, commonly referred to as loops. Furthermore, we are happy to equip the practical containers with different lifting systems. This way, Big Bags adapt to the requirements of various industries regarding transport and storage.
Corner loop (sewn on the side)
The classic among lifting systems is the edge strap sewn on the side. In this system, a loop is attached to each of the four corners of the Big Bags. To transport the Big Bag, a forklift must lift it at all four loops simultaneously. Although handling FIBCs with edge straps sewn on the side is somewhat more cumbersome than with Big Bags equipped with a different lifting system, Big Bags, especially disposable ones, remain highly popular. This is because they are the most cost-effective lifting system variant in terms of acquisition.
Cross-Corner (sewn across the corner)
Big Bags with cross-corner sewn lifting loops are slightly more expensive to acquire than Big Bags with edge straps, but they greatly simplify handling. Because the loops are attached at eight points - each across the corner - the openings of the loops are slightly larger than with the classic edge strap lifting system. Additionally, the loops in this lifting system stand upright and cannot twist, making them easy to lift with a forklift. This lifting system is preferred when time savings are crucial, for example, when many Big Bags need to be moved within a short period.
Tunnel-Loop
Tunnel loops are specifically designed for the transport of Big Bags with forklifts. Big Bags with tunnel loops can only be moved by them. If FIBCs are to be lifted exclusively with forklifts, tunnel loops are the best choice as a lifting system. For this, the forks of the forklift simply need to be guided through the two tunnel loops.
To be able to transport Tunnel Loop Big Bags both with a forklift and with a crane, there is the option to additionally equip these Big Bags with edge straps.
Two-Loop (parallel)
We have developed the Two-Loop (parallel) lifting system to be able to use various machines for lifting Big Bags. Whether the Big Bag is to be moved with a forklift, crane, or grabber - with this lifting system, users are flexible. However, this lifting system is usually only used for lighter filling goods.
Loop in Loop
The Loop-in-Loop lifting system is used to extend the regular lifting loops. It is used when the filling or emptying machine requires different lengths for the lifting loops. Additionally, these Big Bags bring another advantage with them, as they are easier to handle: When the Big Bags are suspended in a device, they can be easily transported further using the other loops.
Stevedore Loop (connected edge straps)
Unlike Big Bags with other loop systems, models with connected edge straps only need to be lifted at two points instead of four. This simplifies the handling of the large transport bags.
Single-Loop
In general, Big Bags with Single-Loop are more suitable for lifting transport bags with a relatively lower filling weight. Big Bags with Single Loop, for example, are often used in the agricultural sector to store and transport fertilizers. They are also used in the chemical industry. They can be easily moved with a crane or grabber, as they only need to be lifted by one loop for transport. A wheel loader or tractor can then take them to their destination. A forklift is not strictly necessary - however, with it, multiple Single-Loop Bags can be transported simultaneously.
Two-Loop
Two-Loop Big Bags can be lifted with a crane or grabber, just like Single Loop Big Bags. They can also be moved with a wheel loader, tractors, or forklifts. Therefore, they are also commonly used in the agricultural or chemical industry.
